The Jigawa State Government is committed to transforming its agricultural sector through the Jigawa Farm Mechanisation Programme. As a key component of this program, the Jigawa State Farm Service Mechanisation Company Ltd has been established to provide efficient and affordable mechanization services to farmers across the state. The company will operate a network of service centers equipped with modern tractors, combine harvesters, and other agricultural machinery. To effectively manage and operate these centers, the company is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following positions:
VACANCIES:
- 60 Service Center Managers (2 from each State Assembly Constituency)
- 60 Tractor Technicians (2 from each State Assembly Constituency)
- 60 Combine Harvester Operators (2 from each State Assembly Constituency)
- 300 Tractor Operators (10 from each State Assembly Constituency)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Service Center Manager:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service center.
- Manage staff, equipment, and inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service to farmers.
- Promote and market the company's services.
- Ensure the profitability and sustainability of the center.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors and other agricultural machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Provide technical support to tractor operators.
3. Combine Harvester Operator:
- Operate combine harvesters to harvest crops efficiently and effectively.
- Perform pre- and post-operation checks on the machinery.
- Maintain the combine harvester in good working condition.
- Ensure safe and responsible operation of the equipment.
- Operate tractors to perform various agricultural tasks, including land preparation, planting, and crop care.
- Perform pre- and post-operation checks on the tractor.
- Maintain the tractor in good working condition.
- Ensure safe and responsible operation of the equipment.
QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1. Service Center Manager:
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management and Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural management or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of agricultural machinery and mechanization services.
- NSQ Certificate in Agricultural Implements, Mechanical Auxiliary Maintenance, and Automobile Mechanic is added advantage.
- Minimum of ordinary diploma or National Diploma certificate in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Holders of Certificates from Technical and Vocational Schools
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in repairing and maintaining tractors and agricultural machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- NSQ Certificate in Agricultural Implements, Mechanical Auxiliary Maintenance, and Automobile Mechanic is added advantage.
3. Combine Harvester Operator & Tractor Operator:
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in operating tractors or combine harvesters is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NSQ Certificate in Agricultural Implements, Mechanical Auxiliary Maintenance, and Automobile Mechanic is added advantage.
- Must be a citizen of Jigawa State.
- Must be resident in the State Assembly Constituency for which they are applying.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of the position.
- Must have a good work ethic and be committed to providing excellent service.
